I recommend stopping by if you are in the immediate area or passing through.

After a morning of hiking around Dana Point I was desperate for an afternoon caffeine boost. I drove a bit out of my way to stop here because of the great google reviews and my aversion to big brand coffee.

I knew it was the correct decision when I saw the glass cabinets filled with pastries. My group selected our treats and sat at a couple nice tables outside in the shade. The cold brew machine was, unfortunately, out of commission but iced americanos sufficed and turned out well. My favorite coffee shop back home often has a problem with their cold brew machine. Is it really that difficult to store and dispense cold brew!?

They accidentally rang me up for double one of the pastries which I did not notice until they brought them out. They offered a refund but instead we swapped the dupe out for the choice of the one member of my group who thought she would get away with skipping her own pasty (and trying a bite of everyone else's).

Everything was very sweet but also very good. My choice of eclair was particularly excellent and filled with perfect custard. They must have had a busy morning because we ended up with three different types of silverware. Two of the group got metal utensils, three got plastic packaged ones, and I got a single black plastic spork for my eclaire. I am uncertain why the variety but it almost worked out; my only complaint was that my spork broke trying to cut my eclair and I nearly mistook a fragment of the plastic for a bit of chocolate!
